About Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad

The Cripple Creek & Victor Narrow Gauge Railroad offers a memorable journey back in time through the heart of Colorado’s gold mining region. Operating seasonally from May to October, this historical steam locomotive provides a captivating adventure that families can enjoy together. As passengers board the 15-ton, 0-4-0 type steam engine—reminiscent of the early locomotives that played a crucial role in the development of the Western United States—they embark on a scenic voyage that showcases the natural beauty and historical significance of the Cripple Creek & Victor area.

The train’s route heads south from Cripple Creek, passing the historic Midland Terminal Wye and crossing a beautifully reconstructed trestle. Along the way, passengers are treated to views of old mines that whisper tales of the region’s bustling gold rush era. The journey continues towards the abandoned mining camp of Anaconda, offering a glimpse into the past before looping back to Cripple Creek.
