Summertime is approaching and kids in the Colorado Springs region will get to choose from a selection of exhilarating activities and events to partake in!
For families seeking a break from the norm for their kids during summer vacation, Kid City Guide has compiled the top activities for kids and families to take advantage of in the area.

These awesome summer camps and family-oriented activities are sure to bring endless amounts of fun and will allow for making the most of the season!

Kids will make the most out of this summer by enjoying any of the amazing camp adventures at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo.

These camps will be filled with fun activities, including meeting animals up close, exploring the outdoors, interacting with keepers, making treats for the animals, designing cool crafts, and more!

Great Wolf Lodge is a resort that offers a large indoor water park with a variety of swim, splash, and slide attractions that will keep kids, and adults, fresh all summer!

They also offer a variety of other indoor and outdoor activities so the fun this summer will never end!

Hours: June 3- August 5, Saturdays, 10 AM- 4 PM

Families can join the Space Foundation Discovery Center and head Back to the Moon!

Each Saturday from June 3rd to August 5th we will discover new facets of space travel, examine the importance of returning to the moon, learn how to use robotic technology, test our creative skills in engineering design challenges, and much more!

Participants ages 1-4 years old with an adult will enjoy a gross motor activity and Meet and Greets with animal ambassadors.

The natural forest habitat on the mountain helps many of the animals feel right at home! Journey into the Jungle to meet some animals who prefer the dense coverage of the trees to the open plains

Summer Camps at the Pueblo Zoo offer tons of fun activities, including 400+ animals, Zoo hikes, animal and nature crafts, meeting some of the zoo’s animals up close and personal, special camp gear, and more!

Stories & S.T.E.A.M. combines lovely stories with science, technology, engineering, arts, and math!

Every second Thursday of the month, kids can enjoy this fun time at the Pikes Peak Museum.

By visiting this pool, families will have summertime fun by cooling off and admiring a beautiful mountainous backdrop! 

You will find a lap pool, a recreational pool, a play structure, a lazy river, a whirlpool, zero-depth entry, a pool deck, a small grass area, locker rooms, and more!

There’s also a spiral slide for hours of fun!

The Unique & Differing Needs Camp is specially designed for campers ages 7 -11 with autism spectrum disorders, sensory processing disorders, developmental disabilities/delays, or medical fragility.

Campers, their caregiver, and Camp Mentors will skip, boogie, and roll through Cheyenne Mountain Zoo while learning the different movements the animals make and why it is beneficial to their wellbeing.

Outdoor School classes may occur on Zoo grounds or off-site in other nature-based environments.

These classes focus less on animals at the Zoo and more on the powerful impact nature has on us as humans.

The whole family will have a great time this summer at Trinidad Aquatic Center. 

You will find a wading pool for toddlers, a 140-foot body slide, and a lap pool with 6 lanes. You can relax poolside and enjoy a snack from the concession stand or play in the water!

During this Explore Space Exploration, participants will learn what it takes to be an astronaut, how we get to the moon, what we will do when we arrive, and how to prepare for a trip to Mars!

As the sponsor of STEM Day, the Space Foundation Discovery Center will provide engaging and informative activities that showcase the importance of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about space exploration, robotics, and other STEM-related topics.

Celebrate Father’s Day with the wolves! Families will enjoy a wolf tour, burritos, and a raffle!

This is a perfect option for a summer day!

The Colorado Springs Astronomical Society will be here with telescopes galore, with each telescope facing a different celestial body in the night sky.

You will learn about the stars, planets, comets, and more that light up our night sky! This program is FREE and open to the public!

Where: Space Foundation Discovery Center
Hours: July 10-14 | 9 AM- 4 PM

Space exploration requires designing and building a lot of things–space suits, rockets, robots, and much more.

During this Explore Space Experience, participants will learn about the design cycle, design and build prototypes, and test their inventions.

At this historic recreational area, families can enjoy exploring trails, courts of basketball, volleyball, tennis, and the city’s first public swimming pool: Monument Valley Pool.

Monument Valley Pool features a lap pool, a recreational swimming area, a pool deck, a small grass area, locker rooms, and a lounge area.

Kids will have a blast enjoying the drop slide with a trio of tubes, and a diving board for adventurous ones!
